Irina Grebaus

Irina Grebaus is a versatile Swiss pianist and composer with roots in Kazakhstan. Based in Zurich, she has established herself as an innovative and sought-after musician on the local scene, with a career spanning classical, jazz, and pop. She performs regularly with several ensembles: SwissDuo (PIANOCELLO), Pianobeat, the Authentic Light Orchestra and 2foryou, showcasing her ability to move fluidly between genres and formations. In 2021, Grebaus composed the original soundtrack for the film “Prostoy Vopros”. Grebaus received her comprehensive musical training at two renowned Swiss institutions. At the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne (HEMU), she studied piano, harpsichord, and organ. She later honed her skills in jazz piano at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). Following her studies, she worked for several years as an accompanist for vocal, oboe, flute and double bass classes at the Lausanne Higher School of Music — experience that deepened her understanding of ensemble work and musical dialogue. In parallel to her performing career, Irina Grebaus is the creator of her own original compositions and arrangements. She is convinced that every musician should not only master their instrument but also comprehend and experience music in all its dimensions — as an interpreter, collaborator, and creator.
