Daniel Björnmo

Daniel is a Swedish guitar player and composer. He started to play the guitar at the age of 11 and soon after that he formed his first band. Early influences were Kiss, Van Halen and Deep Purple. A couple of years later Swedish guitar player Yngwie Malmsteen became a big influence, leading to many hours with the guitar every day. Yngwie’s neoclassical music style led to Daniel becoming interested in the classical guitar. Later Daniel studied classical guitar at the University for 4 years with the electric guitar as a second instrument. Some years later Daniel studied Jazz guitar at the University of North Texas. Daniel works as a guitar teacher and combines it with free lance work on the guitar, both acoustic and electric guitar, in different constellations and musical styles. ”I listen to a lot of different music nowadays, there is so much great music out there. Pat Metheny, Bill Frisell, John Scofield, Wes Montgomery, Eric Clapton, BB King, Jimi Hendrix are some of my favourite guitar players. I also love Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Keith Jarret, Chick Corea and many more . I also enjoy listening to great music in general, like ABBA, Steely Dan and Stevie Wonder. I just love music and when I write a song I imagine myself as the listener. Then I try to create the music in that way me as a listener want to hear it. I hope you like my songs ”.
