Sylke Mehnert

Sylke Mehnert, born in Hamburg, started playing the piano at the age of five. With fifteen she gave her first piano recital and one year later her first piano concert with an orchestra (Mozart KV 488). Besides that, she became the federal award winner of ''Jugend musiziert'' and junior student of Prof. Elgin Roth and, later on, student of Prof. David Wilde. She is a passionate chamber musician, who likes to accompany soloists and play in piano trios or quartets. On the way to master the piano, she took part at several piano masterclasses by Prof. Jürgen Uhde, Prof. Konrad Richter and more. Together with the Markgräfler Symphony Orchestra she performed ''Karneval der Tiere'' by Camille Saint-Saens and the opera ''Carmen'' by Bizet.
