Biography & Metadata

Wole Awolola was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria to Rev & Mrs Awolola. Deeply involved in his father’s church, his interest in music was formed at an early age when he sang in the children’s choir and with his four siblings quite regularly. He later became the choir director. After his secondary school education, Wole came over to the UK to further his education. During these years, He honed his musical ability, experimenting with different musical styles and trying his hands at songs arrangement. A few years after joining the choir of his local church, he became the creative director and was responsible for bringing creative, innovative and dynamic methods of delivery to the various musical presentations given by the many arms of the ministry. He released his first solo project in 2007 titled ‘Let Everything’, an EP of three songs for which he received the Africa Gospel Music Awards nomination for the NEXT BIG ACT. He is now the co-convener of the same ceremony. He went on to win the GOSPELTOUCH UK Artist the year 2018. Wole’s unique blend of R&B and soul on worship songs earned him the privilege to feature as an artist and a worship leader including featuring as support act for the American worship artist Todd Dulaney in London, UK. His latest single titled, ‘Worthy’, follows on the heels of his previous release, ‘I Need You Now’, that has been widely praised for its sound doctrine for aiding Christians in their prayer and relationship with God.
