DJ Ryow a.k.a. Smooth Current

DJ Ryow a.k.a. Smooth Current DJ/Trackmaker A DJ and track maker with extensive experience both in Japan and internationally. As an early founding member of Hydeout Productions, he worked closely with Nujabes, sharing tours and creative projects. Among his notable contributions are official label mix releases such as Hydeout Sound Lab and Nujabes Tribute Mix. He continues to perform as an original core member supporting the ongoing Tribute Tour. As a track maker, his career spans many years and a wide range of musical activities. He has released his own albums, provided numerous tracks for artists in Japan and abroad, and formed the cross-border unit ShinSight Trio with Boston-based producer Insight and Shin-Ski. The trio released three albums and made their major-label debut through Teichiku Records. Their releases reached high positions on charts in China, Taiwan, South Korea, and Singapore, drawing international attention. Highlights include collaborations with Soft Lipa and appearances on special programs for China’s ICS. He has also been featured in major projects and events across diverse fields, including MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL 2025 (hosted by avex), Casio “Shock The World in Shanghai,” the BEAMS × Nihonsakari “Nihonshuki” project, and music production for Pioneer “Steez.” Known for his genre-transcending selections and a keen, trusted musical ear, he continues to captivate audiences across cultures and scenes.
