8L (et al) is an award winning Zimbabwean Afro-Pop/Hip Hop artist whose sound is an infusion of other genres such as House Music, Afro Beats and Jazz. Since his emergence into the Zimbabwean music arena, 8L has numerous number one hit records under his belt including Katarina, Mainini, Kumafuro Manyoro which featured a number of renowned artists such as Andy Muridzo, Tocky Vibes, Ngonie K. His most successful records yet was the release of the Mainini record which went into ALL music charts at Number 1 broke all Zimbabwean music charts records to be the first record on radio to stay in the radio charts of all major Zimbabwean radio stations for over 8months including the Best Local song in the Power FM 2016 Top 100. The Mainini record went on to be nominated in 7 categories of the Zimbabwe Hip Hop Awards and scooped the Collaboration of the Year Gong at the Zimbabwe Hip Hop Awards and the Zimba Nice Awards. The Mainini music video also made headlines in being the first Zim Hip Hop music video to accumulated over 100,000 views in a space of 48hrs and was nominated for the Best Music Video award at the Top Naija Music Awards.
