Jay Em

From the vibrant streets of Gqeberha to the global music scene, brothers Ruwayne and Waven of Jay Em are reshaping the sonic landscape. Rooted in a deep musical heritage, their journey began at home, where the sounds of their grandfather's saxophone and playing in church laid the groundwork for their distinctive style. Early exposure to music theory and digital production techniques set the stage for their innovative approach. A key influence on their path was their late friend, Neelen (4Seven), who introduced Waven to music production. His encouragement sparked countless creative sessions with Ruwayne, and even after his passing, Neelen's legacy continues to inspire their work today. Though navigating the complexities of their sibling dynamic has had its challenges, their shared passion and determination have resulted in a sound that resonates deeply with audiences. Jay Em's mission is to uplift and inspire, staying true to their roots while boldly forging their own path. With mentorship from J’Something and a fusion of funk, soul, and inventive sampling, Jay Em's sound is fresh yet unmistakably theirs. As they set their sights on international stages, they prove that with passion, perseverance, and creativity, dreams can become reality.
