Biography & Metadata

At 12, Meresha recorded her first song in a CD booth at a mall. At 15 she moved her family from Warsaw to Florida. On her first EP, Lunatic, she wrote, sang, produced and played every instrument, a soulful voice with a quirky sonic vision that drew comparisons to Annie Lennox, Björk and Lorde. "New Revolution" slotted into the Billboard Top 40 between Adele and Justin Bieber and went to number one on US indie pop radio, and she won MTV's "Freshman" competition. Enter the Dreamland debuted on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and made AllMusic's 20 best albums of the year; Billboard's Next Big Sound ranked her the third biggest emerging artist in the world, and she played SunFest to 40,000. "Violet Night" and "Olivia" charted on Billboard Dance/Electronic, Governors Ball followed in 2019, and Extra TV called her "an exciting and otherworldly talent." Somewhere in there she named her own genre, #AlienPop, studied production at Berklee, joined the Recording Academy, made records with Joe Chiccarelli, and shared stages with Marshmello, Jon Bellion, Third Eye Blind and Adam Lambert. By 2026 she was living in New York and writing between Brooklyn and Berlin, a commute that produced "Berlin Summer" and "Good Things": neon, club-leaning, and still unmistakably hers. Thirty-seven million plays in, she remains the whole operation.
