Biography & Metadata

Tempers is the project of New York–based singer-songwriter Jasmine Golestaneh, combining low-lit poetic synth-pop with resonances of techno, shoegaze, and post-punk. The 2015 debut album, Services, features underground dance floor classic Strange Harvest. Tempers' interdisciplinary approach has led to some unique collaborations, including the 2018 concept album Junkspace (feat. Rem Koolhaas) (BMG), featuring architect Rem Koolhaas. It was followed by acclaimed LPs Private Life (2019) and New Meaning (2022) on Dais Records. Her latest record, Delusion (2026), features collaborations with visual artists Camille Henrot, Sandra Mujinga, and writer Estelle Hoy. Delusion was co-produced by Golestaneh and Jorge Elbrecht ( Sky Ferreira , Wild Nothing) and released on Tempers’ own imprint, Fear of Luxury, via Cascine / Secretly Distribution. Tempers has performed at institutions such as The Andy Warhol Museum, ICA London and Kunstverein Gartenhaus (Vienna), and toured extensively across the international club circuit. She has shared stages with the likes of IDLES, Slowdive and Martin Rev, and performed at festivals including Levitation, Substance, Hipnosis and Grauzone. Her music has been part of soundtracks for American Horror Story , Terminal List, and been featured in media like Artforum, Pitchfork, KEXP, Fader and Metal Magazine. Electronic Sound described her music as “concrete under sodium light, a gothic disco in an abandoned subterranean shopping precinct.”
