James Reese

James Reese is a versatile, thoughtful tenor who frequently appears with many leading orchestras and ensembles throughout North America and Europe. Season highlights in 2022-23 include a debut with the Boston Early Music Festival Orchestra, with whom he will appear in two chamber operas of Lully and Charpentier, and will sing Mercure in the North American premiere of Henry Demarest's Circé. He will also make his debut with the Madison Bach Musicians in addition to return appearances with Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, the American Bach Soloists, and TENET Vocal Artists. James will also present numerous recitals with his friend and close collaborator, pianist Daniel Overly. Together, they debuted at the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society in 2022. Critics have called James' performances "captivating" (The Broad Street Review) and "splendid" (SF Chronicle.)
