Ujjayinee Roy

Ujjayinee Roy is a singer-songwriter, actor, educator, columnist, poet and dancer. She has been the voice behind numerous songs in mainstream Indian music and sung in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Assamese and Telegu films and has worked with various Indian music directors like A.R. Rahman, Ilaiyaraaja, Sajid-Wajid, Harris Jayaraj, Devi Sri Prasad, Yuvan Shankar Raja, M. G. Sreekumar, Bharathwaj, Kannan, Manikanth Kadri and many more. She has also lent her voice for numerous jingles, ad-films and voice-overs. Ujjayinee has also released numerous original compositions and collaborations with various Indian and international artists, like Ed DeGenaro, Kadri Gopalnath, Sanjeev T, Blues Conscience, Sailing Conductors, Faylasuf, Kishore Sodha etc. A multi-genre artist, Ujjayinee has worked and experimented with various genres like Indian classical music, ghazal, folk, Sufi to western classical, rock, jazz, blues and other internationsl ethnic styles of music. Ujjayinee is also a popular actor and was a radio jockey with Radio Mirchi. As an educator she has taught at Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music and currently teaches at Trueschool of Music
