Haifa Kamal

Haifa Kamal is a Jordanian independent singer and producer whose work sits at the intersection of Arabic musical heritage and contemporary global sounds. Her musical journey began in childhood , and developed through years of performing with established Jordanian ensembles and orchestras, including Baladna, Rum & the National Music Conservatory Orchestra. She later pursued formal studies in Arabic singing and music at Jordan’s National Music Conservatory. Kamal’s defining artistic path has been her commitment to independent music production. Rather than following a fixed commercial formula, she has used independent production as a space for experimentation, allowing every project to explore a different musical identity. Her debut album, Denya (2014), introduced this approach through a collection of songs spanning different genres and collaborations with musicians and producers from across the Arab world. A central theme of Kamal’s work is the revival and reinterpretation of Levantine and Palestinian musical heritage. Rather than treating traditional songs as museum pieces, she approaches them as living material that can be introduced to new generations through modern production, electronic arrangements and contemporary sound design. Her discography demonstrates an unusually broad stylistic range for an independent Arab artist. Alongside Arabic pop and traditional music, Kamal has explored EDM, alternative music, Latin, Bossa Nova influences & orchestral arrangements.
