Marc Marcel has earned a reputation as one of our generation's most consciously aware spoken word artists. Born in Baltimore, MD, and diagnosed with dyslexia at 10, Marcel defied the odds, traveling the world to captivate audiences with his unique blend of spoken word and metaphysical insight. A prominent figure in the psychedelic community, Marcel’s experiences have profoundly influenced his philosophy and creative work. His book, The Book That Doesn’t Even Matter, explores the meaning of life, and he is also the creator and animator of Gurus, a satirical series featuring history’s greatest philosophers. Marcel’s career spans 150 U.S. cities and eight countries, having published five books, produced 20 spoken word albums, and performed at over 50 prestigious universities, including Harvard and Yale. He has made five national TV appearances, entertained U.S. troops in Qatar, and performed at the Smithsonian's 2009 Presidential Inaugural Peace Ball for President Obama. His life has been marked by extraordinary experiences, including being jailed on Christmas in Mexico for trespassing at the Tulum Mayan Ruins during the 2012 winter solstice and surviving a near-death experience when a commercial airliner engine exploded.
