Biography & Metadata

"Alessandro has an immense talent!" —Eric James, Music Associate of Sir Charles Chaplin. Alessandro Simonetto (b. 1974) is a multifaceted musician (pianist, harpsichordist and composer), photographer and music producer. As a pianist, he is working the complete edition of the Satie's piano music, including some unedited pieces (Satie: Favourite Piano Music (Sarabandes, Gymnopédies, Gnossiennes, Pièces Froides...). He was also the unique Italian to record all Scott Joplin's works (Joplin: Ragtimes & Waltzes) [partially published on Spotify] and the Leroy Shield's piano works (The Original Laurel & Hardy Piano Music). As an harpsichordist, Mr. Simonetto recorded the Bustijn: Suittes pour le Clavessin and the Paradies: Complete Sonatas for Harpsichord (for the Brilliant Classics label), both enthusiastically reviewed by the critics ("Listening to Simonetto is like listening to Martha Argerich: along with the utter command of discipline and technique, I hear his brain and emotions being about two measures ahead of the notes. No wonder he exudes spontaneity." —Gil French, Fanfare). As a music producer, he worked on more than 500 recordings. As a composer, he wrote music for solo instruments, including a set of jazz 3 Preludes and Fugues (Jazz Digressions) and 40+ Mazurkas for piano; he also did chamber and choral music including several choral setting of popular music and three masses. Alessandro loves his mountain, the Massiccio del Grappa, for which he shot over 100,000 photos.
