Curse Mackey

Curse Mackey is an Austin, Texas-based musician, producer, visual artist, and author. Since first getting his start as a teenage DJ in the Texas industrial scene, he has built a body of work rooted in darkwave, post-punk, industrial, and electronic music, informed by surrealism, literature, cinema, and psychology. His latest album, Imaginary Enemies, completes a trilogy that began with Instant Exorcism and continued through Immoral Emporium. Across the three releases, themes of memory, loss, obsession, identity, and self-deception invite listeners to find their own meaning in Mackey's songs. Mackey has collaborated with Pigface, @My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, David J of Bauhaus and Love and Rockets, Clan of Xymox, MVTANT, SINE, Beauty in Chaos, and producer Chase Dobson. As a live performer, he has appeared alongside Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, HEALTH, Ministry, Chelsea Wolfe, Twin Tribes, and Matte Black. Beyond music, Mackey is the author of The Sound Philosophy: An Artist's Survival Guide, a practical book about creativity, discipline, and independent artistry.
