Biography & Metadata

Half Dizzy is a five-piece punk band from Long Island, New York. We grew up on ’90s skate punk, ska, hardcore, and melodic punk, and all of that has found its way into our music. If you’re into bands like Millencolin, Lagwagon, Rancid, The Bouncing Souls, or early AFI, you’ll probably hear a little bit of that influence in what we do. In 2025, Alternative Press readers voted Half Dizzy #1 in their Best Long Island Bands poll. Later that year, our album Yard Sale also took the top spot in their readers’ poll for the most underrated albums of 2025. Having people connect with the record like that meant a lot to us. Yard Sale was released through Punkerton Records and produced by Pete Steinkopf of The Bouncing Souls. The record moves around a bit—some songs are straight-up skate punk, some lean into ska, and others get heavier—but it all still sounds like Half Dizzy. Most of our songs come from real life. Growing up, losing people, getting older, trying to stay positive when things aren't going your way, and figuring out what actually matters. Fast drums, loud guitars, catchy melodies, and choruses meant to be sung at the top of your lungs in a sweaty room. We're just five friends from Long Island making the kind of punk music we want to hear.
