Slatta

Gerard John aka Slatta is an acclaimed artist from the island of Carriacou; Sister Isle Of Grenada. He grew up in the village of Mt. Royal. At a young age, Slatta developed a deep interest in music which led him to the producers of Xpert Studio where he built a working relationship and joined the team in 2010. In 2014, Slatta gained the Carriacou Road March title with the song, ‘Heart Of The Fete,’ a collaboration with the now three times Grenada Groovy Monarch King, ‘Shortpree.’ In 2016, Slatta gained the attention of many listeners with his song, ‘Jab Jab Skank,’ and went on to capture the 2017 Carriacou Soca Monarch title with ‘World War.’ In 2018, he captured the attention of international crowds with his song, ‘In the Morning’ featuring Lavaman. In 2019, Slatta released songs such as ‘Unbothered’ and ‘Wukking High’ which gravitated to his fans and grew rapidly both locally and internationally. He was nominated for the 2019 Grenada Boss FM Music Awards in three categories; Best Male Artist, Best Collaboration Song and The People’s Choice, where he won all three awards
