Murat Tugsuz

Murat Tuğsuz is an Istanbul-born composer, music producer, multi-instrumentalist and independent researcher working at the intersection of music, technology and psychoacoustics. Active for more than three decades, his music has appeared across documentaries, television, cinema, advertising and international media productions, with more than 1,500 compositions used in broadcast projects in Türkiye and abroad. A graduate of Marmara University’s Department of Music Education, Tuğsuz combines acoustic musicianship with contemporary production and plays around 16 instruments, including piano, guitars, percussion, flute, ney, duduk, bağlama, oud and qanun. His screen work includes music for Coşkun Aral’s Haberci, İZ TV, TRT productions, Ministry of Culture projects, films, television series and channel identities. Alongside his work for screen, he has built an extensive catalogue spanning world music, orchestral and ambient composition, piano, children’s music and lullabies. In recent years, a major part of his creative research has focused on psychoacoustics, auditory perception, sound frequencies, relaxation, sleep and infant-oriented music.
