Diego Rimbaud

"Internet Kids" is the latest release by Diego Rimbaud, a Peruvian electronic artist making late-night club records shaped by mood, movement, and memory. His current work draws from city nightlife, groove-led, melodic, and reflective, built for the dance-floor and what comes after. "'Internet Kids' was inspired by nights spent wandering around the city and navigating the social dynamics of city life, going to clubs, watching DJs and feeling both completely part of a scene and strangely disconnected from it at the same time. I wanted the vocal to feel more like an internal monologue than a traditional song, a late-night stream of thoughts about music, identity, belonging, and getting older in a culture that constantly reinvents itself. A lot of the lyrics are based on real observations and experiences, but they're delivered with a sense of humor because I'm not pointing fingers at anyone, I'm one of the internet kids too. Musically, it's built around driving basslines, synth arpeggios and acid textures, sitting somewhere between alternative dance and electronic music. Beneath the irony, it's really a song about trying to find something genuine in a world where everyone seems to be curating a version of themselves.
