Biography & Metadata

InDuna is a self-taught artist and producer whose Afro-pop sound draws deeply from his South African roots. Raised between the streets of Johannesburg and Limpopo, he moved to Aotearoa New Zealand at the age of fourteen, where music became both a survival mechanism and a therapeutic outlet for self-expression. His work blends rhythmic African influences with contemporary pop and electronic production, forming a distinctive cross-cultural sound shaped by lived experience and global perspective. InDuna’s achievements include receiving the Young Global Achiever Award from The King’s Trust (The Prince’s Trust) in 2024. His single Dreams won Best Original Song at the International Online Web Fest, charted on the Official NZ Hot Singles Chart, and featured in the documentary Ink and Gold: An Artist’s Journey to Olympic Glory. In 2025, he released his EP Go High, which debuted at #16 on the Official Top 20 Aotearoa Albums Chart. Recent performance highlights include supporting internationally recognised acts such as Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, and opening for artists including JessB, Estère, and Deva Mahal. He has also headlined shows across Wellington and Auckland, building a reputation for high-energy, emotionally driven live performances across both festival and intimate stages.
