Calmtone

“Every illness is a musical problem — its healing a musical solution.” — Novalis Calmtone is the liminal/dark ambient project of Portland, Oregon-based producer, Ross Bartlett. Dark, emotive, melancholic soundscapes built from memorable melodic progressions and haunting atmospheres — music that holds weight, space, and quiet reckoning. Also by Ross Bartlett — other projects you might explore: Retland — compositional, organic ambient: tactile field-recorded pieces for close listening. Gentle Resonance — minimal ambient: sparse drones and tiny harmonic gestures for focus. Somnisonic — sleep ambient: slow-moving soothing drones and soft piano layers for deep rest. Nalter — lo-fi beats: tape-warm grooves for study and slow afternoons. Eva Worter — synthwave & electronic: neon-tinged synth melodies and widescreen textures. Retsky — melodic progressive house: catchy builds and melodic payoffs for open-air energy.
