Biography & Metadata
FELIPE AUKAI Brazilian-born Canadian rock artist of Irish descent, Felipe Aukai blends the melodic spirit of Australian rock, the atmospheric edge of Canadian alternative, and the raw energy of Brazil's surf scene. Influenced by Spy vs Spy, Hoodoo Gurus, Australian Crawl, Moist, and The Tragically Hip, his music delivers powerful melodies and songs that stay with you. In Toronto, Aukai fronted Kahana, whose songs “Naked Soul” and “Kekemapa” led to an invitation to tour Brazil. He stayed in São Paulo, where he became a television host and founded 7 Cities in 2005 with support from Sony Entertainment Television. The band's video “Little Town” gained exposure across Latin America, and BMG talent scout Carlos Tabakov described its sound as “New Progress.” In 2016, Aukai created Hybrydd, fusing indie rock and folk into his own style of Hard Folk Rock. Back in Canada, he connected with Mark S. Berry and Duane Farley at AMG Visuals before his acting career across Canadian and American film and television took centre stage. Now, Aukai returns to music with a solo vision and releases including “Concrete Bed,” “Millennium,” “Phantoms,” and “Galileo's Planet.” Working alongside AMG within a music industry network connected to Universal Music, he looks ahead to “Kingdom” and “Marine Blue Suns.” FELIPE AUKAI IS BACK. AND THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING.
