EIVIND

EIVIND is a Norwegian singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist with a long-standing background in soul and vocal music, both as a performer and educator. He studied arranging and composition at Growl Music in Los Angeles, Berklee College of Music in Boston, the University of Agder in Kristiansand, and the Tromsø Conservatory. The album project EIVIND began in summer 2024, when he, living out of his camper van and travelling across Norway, invited drummer and producer Kim Ofstad (D'Sound) for a spontaneous jam at Lauvøya in Åfjord. The session, filmed on a mobile phone, quickly gained traction online, reaching over two million views. Inspired by both the response and the strength of the material, Ofstad brought EIVIND into the studio in Oslo to develop the project into a full album. The album ‘EIVIND’ is ten tracks of warm, groovy music, blending neo soul, R&B, yacht rock and jazz. The songs come from more than 30 years of unreleased material, which Eivind whittled down from about 3,000 ideas recorded on his phone. Guests include the Grammy-nominated singer Mike Terrell, jazz singer Lauren Henderson, R&B singer Lewis Sky, saxophonist Marius Neset, violinist Ola Kvernberg and Mezzoforte bassist Jóhann Ásmundsson.
