Grégory Privat

Pianist, composer and singer Grégory Privat, born in Martinique, has spent over fifteen years shaping a singular musical language where jazz takes root in the Creole traditions of his island. Classically trained, then self-taught in improvisation, he has built a distinctive, personal body of work — around ten albums — praised by the international press (Jazz Magazine, DownBeat, Télérama). Winner of the Académie du Jazz's Prix Django Reinhardt and the Adami “Artist to Watch” award, and named Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in 2025, he performs solo or in trio on major jazz stages and festivals worldwide. Founder of the label Buddham Jazz, Grégory Privat released Darling in 2026, his third solo album, on which he plays every instrument himself — the latest chapter in a singular musical journey between intimacy and wide horizons.
