Selma Juhran

Selma Juhran is an East German independent artist from Chemnitz. Her music lives somewhere between dark pop, alternative rock and dreamlike songwriting. Intimate, atmospheric and sometimes a little unsettling, her songs often feel like fragments from a dream you can't quite remember. Growing up in a city shaped by industrial ruins, concrete and traces of a world that no longer exists, surrounded by forests and mountains, Selma has always been drawn to the strange beauty of things that are falling apart, changing shape and beginning again. Her songs move through love, youth, obsession, loneliness and letting go, blurring the line between memory, reality and fantasy. Her songwriting feels eerie and nostalgic. There is something soft and strange about it, like moss growing over concrete.
