Elo James

Visionary songwriter/producer and musician Elo James knew that he wanted to be an artist from as far back as he can remember. When asked where his musical journey began, Elo stated, "Music has been a part of my family's history my entire life." Growing up in the outskirts of Toronto, which is known around the world as a musical mecca due to the global success of The Weeknd, Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Daniel Caesar and a host of others. I'm so very grateful that music is all around me. I knew that I wanted to create my own music around the age of 4 when I heard the album Graduation by Kanye West for the very first time. I started writing songs as a kid and continued through my teenage years. Elo's music can be described as cutting edge as he masterfully fuses cross-genre elements to make music that will undoubtedly resonate with listeners of all musical tastes. When asked how he sees himself artistically, Elo replied, "To be honest, I see myself as a unique individual." I don’t necessarily fit into the conventional mold. I seldom follow trends and aim to stand out from the crowd. I want to continue to push myself to break creative boundaries. My music is a tapestry of my life experiences. I feel that my music stretches beyond the conventional and aptly draws the listener in with all of its nuances. With musical family roots shaped by both South Africa and Trinidad, the range of influences is felt in Elo's music.
