Saphie Wells

In 2021, after years devoted to interpreting classic repertoires and collaborating with different ensembles, Saphie embarked on a new chapter as a solo songwriter and artist with the release of her debut solo album, Inside Out. Supported by the SGAE 2020 Record Publishing Grant, the album gathers songs written before and during the lockdown period, exploring themes of physical and emotional liberation. Her second EP, Bittersweet (2022), delves into the coexistence of emotional opposites, sweetness and bitterness, presence and absence, through a sound that blends folk, pop, R&B, and reggae, always guided by the sensitivity of jazz. The project also received the SGAE 2022 Record Publishing Grant. In 2024, she released So Far, an introspective EP revisiting personal experiences, farewells, reunions, love, heartbreak, and transformation. The title plays with the double meaning of “distance” and “up to now,” reflecting the artist’s thoughtful and evolving perspective on life.
