j.paul

Justin Genzo's lightbulb moment materialized in 2022 after he was gifted a Korg Rhythm 55B drum machine. It was then that he founded his solo bedroom pop project, jpaul. Justin’s earlier experience playing in bands throughout the New Jersey scene earned him musical and artistic literacy. However, he felt there was more to do. j.paul gave Justin an outlet to express himself in his own terms, and on his own schedule. Now, he could explore genres he was interested in, like bedroom pop and surf rock. The first songs he released as j paul were 100% self-funded and produced. In 2024, j.paul released his debut EP, Clementines. With Justin remaining at the project's forefront, Clementines blossomed into a well-rounded creative endeavor. A full-band sound highlighted Genzo's love of synths and surf rock, complementing his contemporary take on alternative indie music. Currently, Genzo aims to sustain his current forward momentum, further pushing genre-based boundaries in each new release. Flowers (feat.
