Biography & Metadata
Founded in Sassari in 2004 by drummer Giorgio Pinna, Souls of Diotima have become a cornerstone of the European metal scene. Over a career spanning two decades, the band—fronted by the powerful vocals of Claudia Barsi—has constantly evolved, shifting from their original, highly personal symphonic power metal to a cutting-edge, modern sound. 2026 marks a total revolution. While keeping their unique sonic personality intact, Souls of Diotima have embraced the experimental and innovative spirit of modern metalcore. This new era is heralded by the single "Run Away" (June 2026) and their fifth studio album, Arcade, set for release on October 2, 2026, via their own label, Diotima Records. The album was recorded and mastered at the legendary Studio Bohus in Sweden by a top-tier production team: Oscar Nilsson, Mikko Viitala, and Thomas Plec Johansson. Their discography includes acclaimed albums like Maitri, What Remains of the Day, and The Sorceress Reveals - Atlantis. In 2021, their fourth album, Janas, brought them international prominence, entering global sales charts within days of its release. With a legacy of intense live performances alongside giants like Stratovarius, Obituary, and Hatebreed, the band has consistently bridged music with social commitment, notably creating the "Diotima Metal Fest" in Paris to support Parkinson’s research. With Arcade, Souls of Diotima are ready to redefine the boundaries of modern metal.
