Soham Majumdar

Soham Majumdar is an Indian lyricist and songwriter whose creative journey began with writing poetry in school while learning guitar. He has also been a bass guitarist for notable bands for over two decades—a foundation that shaped his strong sense of rhythm and groove, allowing him to intuitively counter rhythms and craft his signature lyrical lines with melodic precision. A registered member of IPRS, MCAI, and the Screenwriters Association of India (SWAI), Soham made his film debut as a lyricist with Password, penning “Aye Khuda,” sung by the late KK. Over the years, he has collaborated with some of the country’s most celebrated voices, including KK, Arijit Singh, Sonu Nigam, Javed Ali, Shaan, Usha Uthup,Alka Yagnik, and Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty, across mainstream Indian cinema and independent music. His filmography includes projects such as Chhipkali, Zombiesthaan, Amrapali, Angshuman MBA, O Lovely, and Safed. Recognized for evocative and emotionally honest writing, Soham won the Euro Music Video Song Award for “Let Me Fly,” a song themed around compassion for animals, and earned a nomination at the 16th Mirchi Music Awards for “Bhula Dena” under Indie Song of the Year. Most recently, he was nominated for Lyricist of the Year (2025) at the CLEF Music Awards for his runaway hit “Ratiyaan,” which has crossed 4.2 crore views on YouTube.
