Dru Heath

Dru Heath is a UK songwriter and producer blending country storytelling with dance, house and electronic music, creating songs that can feel equally at home on a dancefloor or somewhere along a dusty back road. His music has continued to evolve across releases including The A-Team which received support from BBC Introducing, 'Tonight's the Night", "Breakdown" and "Rainbow Coloured Horse" a playful country-trance crossover inspired by a songwriting game with his daughter. On 23 October, Dru releases “Not Every Cowboy”, one of his most personal tracks yet. Built around the simple idea that not every cowboy wants a cowgirl, the song tells a queer story through the familiar world of country music, exploring identity, expectation and finding the freedom to love who you love. With a theatrical edge and a touch of Eurovision energy, “Not Every Cowboy” continues Dru’s love of taking genres that might not normally sit together and finding a way to make them belong. For Dru, there doesn’t have to be a choice between country and dance music, storytelling and the club, or being different and belonging. Sometimes the most interesting music happens somewhere in between.
