Tropics

Tropics is the project of British electronic musician Christopher Ward. Producer, composer and live musician, he creates dreamy, often vocal-driven electronica with occasional nods to indie, ambient and a host of other eclectic influences. His music quickly gained the attention of The Fader, RA, and Pitchfork, noting him a “voracious and accomplished student of sound”, while also gaining further support through DJ mix contributions to i-D and Clash. The evolution of Tropics' catalogue showcases a multifaceted ability to bend genre, while consolidating influences through a variety of sonic styles. Based in Los Angeles, Tropics’ collective output also includes collaborations with Badbadnotgood, Petite Noir, remixes by Aleksandir, Machinedrum and being sampled by award-winning hip-hop/Rnb artists Wale and 6lack.
