Vandana Srinivasan

Vandana Srinivasan is a renowned Indian singer and musician known for her soulful voice and versatility. Born and raised in Doha by parents from Mumbai and Bangalore, Vandana has a multilingual upbringing that has influenced her music and appreciation for diverse cultures. Vandana is trained in both Carnatic and Hindustani music. Her debut song, "Oru Paadhi Kadhavu" from the film "Thandavam," marked her entry into the Indian film industry. She has since sung numerous chart-topping hit for several renowned music composers including GV Prakash, D Imman, Harris Jayaraj, Vidyasagar, Nivas Prasanna, Illayaraja, andJustin Prabhakaran. Vandana was nominated for Filmfare’s Best Playback Singer Female in the Tamil category in 2014 and 2015. She has performed around the world, including events like the London Olympics 2012. Beyond her film music career, Vandana is also a passionate advocate for preserving traditional Indian classical music. She runs the collective Madras Mehfil, which specializes in Ghazals, Bhajans, Semi-classical genres, Sufi numbers, and poetry across languages.
