Filipino indie-pop rising artist rhodessa has been making waves since her cover of Join the Club's classic, “Nobela” in 2019. Since then, she has branched out and settled quite nicely into her own nook in the OPM indie scene writing original songs and building her audience of like-minded chill song streamers. rhodessa channels alternative flavored pop on her previously self-produced singles — all the way to her label debut titled “Kisame.” Her talent in singing and songwriting makes it more evident as she rose on different Spotify editorial playlists as she peaked at #1 on Spotify Viral 50 PH, peaked at #6 on Spotify Top 50 PH, and has been a hit ever since. Surely making a mark, “Kisame” also won as the ‘Wish Ballad Song of the Year’ at the Wish Music Awards 2024 and currently has more than 186 million streams on Spotify alone. More of rhodessa can certainly be seen through her music with “Mina(mahal ko),” a collab track with mrld in “sa’yong sa’yo lang ako,” and “pagod na (sayo).” Her first-ever EP “kiss” is a quirky, no-holds-barred dive into the messiness of love and relationships. With six tracks that capture everything from confusion to confrontation, this EP is a rollercoaster of emotions. She recently released her comeback single “ano na?”, produced by international label, The Kennel, known to have written and produced music for chart-topping tracks and artists all over the world. “ano na?” poses a big question in a situationship that seeks so much clarification.
