Portion is forging the undeniable melodies of Atlanta’s trap music with the striking imagery, swagger and wit of East Coast hip-hop to help usher in a new era in Toronto. Born and raised in Scarborough, Portion creeped his way into hip-hop cognizance with the organic buzz that grew around 2017’s “Fif’s World.” He’s crossed over into the American market with hit records like “Ambitions of a Patek,” “Big Step” and “Slime Me Out.” Portion’s lyricism depicts the struggles and pain that are inevitable on the journey to success. His crafted adlibs lets listeners in on the dark realities he’s been subject to while his melodic delivery and flow paints the grim moments into palatable trap music that has impressed the masses. Portion’s debut album I Am Nothing Without established him further into the culture with a Toosii feature on “Eastside” and the Million Dollaz Worth of Game co-signed single “Wave,” that took over stadium speakers at LA Lakers and Raptors games. Portion is now entering a new chapter in his artistry and is betting against everyone who’s doubted him with his latest and great release, “Downfall".
