BxRod, also known as Bx, is a Filipino-American singer and songwriter who has carved out a signature sound she calls “Fantasy Wave,” blending elements of Pop, Contemporary R&B, Alternative, and Electronic music. Born and raised in the Bay Area via Vallejo, CA, she discovered her passion for the arts at a young age, immersing herself in ballet, choral music, and theater. These early experiences—paired with influences like Björk, Aaliyah, Radiohead, and Norah Jones—sparked her desire to create her own music, eventually leading her to share early tracks on SoundCloud and build an organic fan base. Since then, she has been featured on Craneo’s breakout hit “Cristal,” which has garnered over 20 million streams on Spotify alone. In 2023, she independently released her Static Atmosphere EP, with its single “Play!” landing on Spotify’s Fresh Finds: The Wave editorial playlist. She also made a cameo appearance in Toro y Moi’s “Postman” music video. Her most recent EP, "fairytales", marks a new era in her Fantasy Wave sound and offering a deeper look into the visionary world she’s crafting. Passionate about pushing culture forward, Bx proudly represents her Bay Area roots and is dedicated to creating greater visibility for Asian and Pacific Islander women in music.
