You didn’t know you needed them until you did. Next Week’s Washing merges shimmering shoegaze soundscapes with post-punk bite and ‘90s alternative styling into a magnetic wall of sound that avoids nostalgia to create something new. Formed in 2024 by young Toronto musicians — Rhys Newman, brothers Miles and Julian Duffy, and later Ben Sawyer and Evan de Castro – Next Week’s Washing delivers unforgettable tunes with powerful vocals and sublime guitar lines recalling Oasis and Slowdive, but in their own bold style. A debut self-titled EP recorded by Dylan Frankland of Tallies was picked up for a physical release by Sheffield, UK-based label, ForgeMaster Records. The group was named Kool Rock Radio’s band of the month for November 2025 and subsequently added to Exclaim! Magazine’s prestigious “Class-Of 2026”. The band have since recorded new material scheduled for release in late 2026, reflecting the nuanced songwriting, tight execution and confident delivery that gets the crowd bouncing during their electrifying live performances. Catch them as the tide is rising. This is only the beginning.
