Yikii

All music written, composed, arranged, performed, recorded, and mixed entirely by Yikii. Visuals and artwork by Yikii.     Yikii’s work is rooted in experimental electronic music, moving across avant-garde pop, field recordings, experimental and horror sound design, noise, microtonality, distorted hardcore elements, dark ambient, orchestral textures and nursery-rhyme melodies. She sometimes writes lyrics in a constructed language of her own creation. Yikii has built a catalogue of entirely self-produced albums. Although her music often leans toward melancholy, she focuses on the faint glimmers of light that remain within despairing darkness. From a young age, Yikii studied voice and piano. Upon acquiring her first computer, she began teaching herself music production using Logic Pro. Her work draws inspiration from nightmares, psychological trauma, and a longstanding fascination with science fiction literature. Yikii lives an isolated life, rarely socializing with humans and spending more time with animals. When tormented by the nihility of existence and immersed in nothingness, she creates music and poetry as refuge, exploring dreams of the organic and inorganic beyond reality.
