Merging the violin with techno live performances, LuizFribs has emerged as one of the promising names from the new generation, collecting supports in an ever-growing list from the kinds of Amelie Lens, Kobosil, Perc, Regal and SPFDJ. His signature sound brings raw and straightforward techno beats alongside tribal, percussive and groovy influences from Brazilian traditional rhythms and the oldschool sounds from the 90s and 2000s. Some of his most notable works has been out in labels like Agora, Etruria Beat, No Mercy and Gomboc. A violinist since his very early years, Fribs incorporates the instrument into techno on a very distinctive and unusual way, giving it a touch of modernity and brutality. Counting on some analog and digital machines to improvise new tracks alongside the performance of his known ones, the result is a dynamic and impressive live act that was described by the blog Music Is 4 Lovers as “breathtaking”. Also performing as a DJ, his high-energy selections reinforce Fribs’ taste for the oldschool sound, always mixing and layering the modern techno with classic and groovy stuff. Active in electronic music since 2011, LuizFribs has produced tracks that have hit the hottest warehouses, raves, clubs and festivals around the world and, for his live act, he was considered in 2018 “one of the new highlights of the Brazilian Midwest techno scene” by Play BPM.
