Herc Cut the Lights is a dynamic force in the music industry, pioneering what it means to be a global reaching African Producer-Artist. His sonic masterpieces have left an indelible mark on the music landscape. While embarking on a new journey, releasing music independently, Herc is able to freely showcase his versality. Herc's journey to stardom culminated in a series of groundbreaking achievements, including his role as a multi-platinum selling producer. His journey began in 2017 on SoundCloud which led him to having studio sessions with DJ Maphorisa. Herc’s rapid ascension has resulted in placements in music from some of Africa’s A-Level artists including Riky Rick, BET winner Sha Sha, international breakout stars Focalistic & Blxckie, global powerhouse DJ Maphorisa and global superstars Davido & Wizkid. His work as a music producer began when he was featured on Priddy Ugly’s G.O.A.T album in 2019. Herc would go on to dominate the local Soundcloud scene in the following two years, dropping countless viral classics in collaboration with budding artist Willy Cardiac and among a few others. In 2021, Herc contributed significantly to the production on Priddy Ugly’s critically acclaimed sophomore album “SOIL" and Blxckie’s major breakout debut album “B4NOW”, while producing one of the biggest songs of 2021 “Kwenzekile” by Blxckie, Herc has been nominated twice as “Producer of The Year” at the SA HipHop Awards.
