Biography & Metadata

Pascal Schumacher, a multi-awarded musician and composer specializing in the vibraphone, has spent over a decade leading a quartet and collaborating with artists such as Jef Neve, Francesco Tristano, Sylvain Rifflet, Nicolas Dautricourt, Bachar Khalifé, and United Instruments of Lucilin. In 2018, Pascal begins developing solo material, leading to the release of his debut album SOL in 2020 via Neue Meister. SOL explores his connection to solitude and intimacy with the vibraphone. In 2022, he follows up with LUNA, an intricate album featuring Echo Collective, adding rich textures that complement SOL, creating a duality akin to the transition from day to night. In 2023, Pascal embarks on a transformative project inspired by Philip Glass. The triptych begins with GLASS ONE, an EP released in early 2024, bridging LUNA and SOL. The second part, GLASS TWO, released in November 2024 with pianist Danae Dörken, blends the compositions of Glass and Pascal. The final installment, an orchestral album, is set for 2026. This series delves into form and spirituality, resulting in immersive, trancelike music. In 2023, Pascal also reignites his passion for jazz by forming the trio SINGÜLAR with Studnitzky and Edward Perraud. The trio, which provides a dynamic contrast to his Glass works, is set to release new music in 2025. Their collaboration marks a creative milestone, rooted in an intuitive and trust-filled connection with each other and their audience.
