Alex Pattle

Alex played drums in Ocean Flaws from the Essex band’s inception until its hiatus began in 2023 – after multiple sold-out shows and numerous plays on BBC Radio 6, Radio X and BBC Introducing. In late 2023, he released his first solo track “I’m Going To Leave You At The Altar”. His follow-up “The Sun, The Rain, The End” was released in August 2024, before “Pears And Ghosts” in December and “Germany, 20” in July 2025. Alex dislikes writing in the third person and the Spotify algorithm’s encouragement of it. He also dislikes breaking the fourth wall. He does like Robbie Williams, but he’d never try to emulate him. When he’s not writing music, Alex is writing about boxing and MMA as The Independent’s Combat Sports Editor.
