Biography & Metadata
Magnolian is the stage name of Dulguun Bayasgalan, a singer-songwriter from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, a name that quietly nods to his roots. His music lives in soft, reflective spaces, and it resonates with the quieter corners of a city that never stopped moving. Over a decade of independent performing, he has become one of Mongolia's most successful DIY artists, growing an international audience entirely on his own terms. His debut EP Famous Men (2016) became a local anthem, soundtracking a generation of young Mongolians navigating modernity. His full-length debut Slow Burn (2020) sharpened the sound, introducing electric textures while keeping the intimacy intact. In recent years, he has contributed original music to film, including If Only I Could Hibernate (Cannes Film Festival, Un Certain Regard). Magnolian returns with his sophomore album, Supermarket Daydreams (2026) — a record about what it feels like to have everything figured out on paper and still not quite be able to breathe. In a music landscape full of burnout and disconnection, Supermarket Daydreams is about what you find when you stop fighting the current and just float in it.
