The Night and the Dirty

The Night and the Dirty is redefining folk-driven music with a fearless blend of Americana, synthwave, and pop. Analog synths pulse alongside banjos and gritty rhythms, creating a cinematic, emotionally raw sound. Fronted by Kelly McShane—whose synesthesia shapes his unique sonic vision—the band channels adversity into art. Raised in the Pacific Northwest and overcoming a childhood of loss and institutional care, McShane found refuge in music. Now, with multi-instrumentalist Michael Waller and guitarist Jeremiah Robinson, longtime friends, The Night and the Dirty pushes boundaries through immersive textures and collaborative energy. More than a band, it’s a story told in frequencies—where tradition meets innovation.
