Biography & Metadata

Misato, the musical trio made up of the children of afrofunk legend Bantunani, is set to dazzle the world with the release of their very first album titled “Disconnect”. After the massive successes of their critically acclaimed singles "Young and Free" in collaboration with Bantunani and "Young Blood", Misato is gearing up to take the international music scene by storm with a bold and energetic album, ready to thrill souls. The name "Misato" has a special meaning. In Lingala, it means "three", symbolizing the spiritual trinity around the music that the band embodies, as well as their deep connection to their cultural heritage. In Japanese, "Misato" means "beautiful village", evoking a better world, an aspiration that the group carries through their music. This project is much more than just a family affair; it's a real "Family Affair". With Matteo N'zau on piano and vocals, Térence N'zau on guitar and vocals, and Maria N'zau on viola and vocals, this talented trio takes us on a vibrant musical journey through 11 original titles . The members of Misato have passed through the most prestigious music venues, ranging from music schools in Kinshasa to Casablanca, to finally complete their training in Orléans. Their musical journey is not limited to Chopin or Mozart, but extends well beyond, encompassing titles by James Brown, Bee Gees, Stevie Wonder, and even Michael Jackson. Their musical diversity is as rich as their influences are varied.
