Baby Richman

Ottawa indie rock band Baby Richman is making waves with the release of their debut single Lights Down! Inspired by acts such as Oasis, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Coldplay, Lights Down hikes listeners forward through a canopy of glowing guitar swells, melancholy vocals, and heavenly harmonies. The single was recorded alongside several other songs (slated for release in late 2026/early 2027) over the course of a year in Muskoka with Hollerado lead guitarist Nixon Boyd. A studio surprise, Lights Down initially began as an afterthought amongst a collection of disregarded voice notes. “I hadn’t even planned on showing the guys” says lead vocalist and songwriter Colin Paul, “but we couldn’t agree on what to record and time was running out, so we figured it was time to pick through the trash”. The group has shown no signs of slowing down since their debut, having released the follow-up “Shadows on the Wall” on October 16th. Darker, heavier, and with a distinctly spooky edge, Shadows on the Wall takes inspiration from The Beatles’ knack for weaving unusual stories into songs.
