Aygün Kazımova

Aygün was trained as a competitive athlete and served as the captain of the Azerbaijan SSR women's handball team. She developed her vocal abilities early in life. In 1988, she rose to fame after winning Bakı Payızı (Baku Autumn – 1988). Between 1990 and 1994, she took part in the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. Aygün's debut album, Ömrüm - Günüm, was recorded with Baku Raks Music in 1997. Between 2002 and 2006, she served as the president of the Best Model of Azerbaijan competition. In 2006, Aygün Kazımova portrayed the title role in Xarı Bülbüllər, a historical musical about the life of Khurshidbanu Natavan. In 2007, she performed at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium in Baku, Azerbaijan. She was also a contestant on Survivor Azerbaijan, which was filmed in Namibia in 2011. In 2012, she performed the song Qol, which served as the official theme of the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup held in Azerbaijan. On August 16, 2013, Aygün released Coffee From Colombia, her first English maxi-single, featuring Snoop Dogg. She was also one of the three judges on the first season of Azerbaijan's Got Talent, which aired on ATV Azerbaijan in 2015. In August 2016, Aygün Kazımova won the “Best Azerbaijani Female Act” award at the Daf Bama Music Awards. In 2017, she performed at Baku Crystal Hall in Baku, Azerbaijan.
