Citizend

Citizend is a Gothenburg-based duo formed by Emil Gustavsson and Otto Nilsson in 2022. On November 13 2026 Citizend will release their debut album DoomsVille via Majestic Mountain Records. The album is set in a desolate frontier town at the edge of a ravaged world. DoomsVille is a concept album where each song depicts a character, place or phenomenon within the same fictional universe. DoomsVille is the album, the story, and the place. It is a world where dusty industrialism meets spur-clad boots in scorched deserts, and where the Wild West collides with a dark future. Musically the album unfolds like a noir soundtrack to a post-apocalyptic Sergio Leone movie that was never made. It moves between spaghetti western, shadow-lit folk, doom-tinged rock and cinematic Americana to a crossroads of genres that has come to be called NoirMericana. But DoomsVille doesn't end with the music. Conceived as a multidisciplinary work bringing together music, poetry, literature, photo and visual art the project expands its universe through a companion western/fantasy short story by author Fredrik Persson Winter (The Badger), published by Kraxa Förlag in Swedish. To bring DoomsVille to life Citizend has assembled a cast of great collaborators, and friends, including Mika Häkki (Monolord), Dag Rosenqvist (@Småland), Mattias Hagström (Sarah Klang), Oliver Knowles (Snow Ghosts ), Magnus Tannergren, Richard Bloom, Cezilia Hjelt Röstberg and Emma Häkki.
