Ṣẹwà

Nigerian-born, Toronto-based artist Ṣẹwà is a singer , songwriter , multi-instrumentalist, composer , and producer redefining Afro-Soul through the power of live performance. Blending Afrobeat, Fuji, Jazz, R&B,Soul, Blues, and Pop, she creates music that is emotionally rich, rhythmically immersive, and deeply rooted in storytelling. Singing in English, Pidgin English, and Yoruba, her work bridges cultures while staying grounded in the traditions that shaped her sound. A fan once described her artistry as "the after-scent of rain"—a fitting reflection of the warmth, depth, and quiet power of her voice. Since selling out her debut headline concert in Lagos in 2021, Ṣẹwà has built a growing audience across Canada and Nigeria, headlining sold-out performances in Toronto and Lagos. At the heart of her artistry is her 15-piece ensemble, Ṣẹwà and The Natives, with both T oronto-and Nigeria based lineups. Together ,they deliver immersive live shows that celebrate African musicianship through rich arrangements,dynamic improvisation, and an unmistakable connection with audiences. Ṣẹwà has shared the stage with Johnny Drille, Simi, Burna Boy, and Aṣa, and has performed at major festivals and events including Afrofest Canada, Afrovibes Festival, Sofar Sounds, and Waveland Canada. Her latest album, DETOX, explores love, healing, resilience, and diasporic identity through a sound that is both deeply personal and globally resonant.
