The album combines field recordings with improvisation on synthesizer and viola to recreate a specific feeling of space, time, and location. In 2023 the duo combined forces with legendary French musician Ariel Kalma after the BBC Radio show Late Junction reached out to commission new work. The result eventually evolved into a larger collaboration, culminating in the full length album The Closest Thing to Silence, which was released via International Anthem and praised as “heady, vibrant, and mysterious” by Complex Distractions.
